5 Weeks Already!!

I'm not sure how five weeks can go by so quickly. Jett is certainly growing and changing daily, and there is a part of me that wants him to stay our little 8 pounder just a while longer! He continues to be the best baby ever. He rarely cries, loves to sit in his swing and under his "activity mat", he is extremely alert, loves his mom (Ryon can't stand that Jett will cry with him and the minute I take him he calms right down!), and is only waking up once at night! We are certainly trying to cherish every moment!
A little tummy time (which he does not like one bit!)

We have a few shirts that say "little brother". Hoyt thinks they're pretty cool because in his words,"that means I'm the big brother!"

Look at those lips....definitely got those from my side of the family!!

One of Jett's favorite past times - sleeping in his swing. Oh....how I love the swing!!

Busy Weekend

Yesterday was a special stake conference for our stake and Elder Nelson came and spoke. It was Jett's first outing to church, and his four week old "birthday", so I thought we should commemorate the occasion with some pictures! I'm hoping to have some family pictures taken sometime soon, but for now this will have to do.
Grandma and Grandpa Murray were here for the weekend as well; they even watched the boys so Ryon and I could go out on a date. We went to lunch on Saturday and then went grocery shopping. I know....I know....we're so creative, but you can't be gone too long when there is a four-week-old at home to feed!
To quote Hoyt's newest favorite primary song, "We are a happy family!"

The big one and the little one!

With grandma and "grampy" (Hoyt's new term for grandpa!)

Three Weeks

I think I will let these pictures speak for themselves. Jett is such a sweet little baby boy - he's so calm and mellow, eats and sleeps great, and loves to be in his swing! We love him so much!!
Sleeping on the couch - he looked so sweet I couldn't resist taking a few pictures
One more - I took so many pictures. I always have a hard time deciding which are my favorite!

Hoyt had to get in on the picture taking. This is one of his favorite past times these day - giving Jett kisses on the head....

and holding him as well! I think I have two of the most handsome boys around!

Bathtime and more...

Jett enjoyed his first bath, but Hoyt probably enjoyed it more. He couldn't wait to "help" bathe Jett. Luckily Ryon was home to help out as well (take pictures and keep an eye on Hoyt!) Jett seemed to like the warm water, but as soon as I took him out of the bath he screamed until I could get his clothes on. The boy does not like to be uncovered!

Enjoying bath time!

Hoyt "helping" me - dressed in his pirate costume

Hoyt and Jett were with me in the office/guest room the other day while I was trying to get a few things done. As you can see, Hoyt is completely enamoured! He absolutely adores his little brother, and is also a big helper when it comes to getting me diapers, burp cloths, etc.

I had to give Jett a little help to look at the camera. Hoyt had no interest in the camera (which is saying something!) He would rather look at Jett.

Jett and Ryon watching Sports Center. This little guy certainly loves being held!

Two Weeks Old!

I was finally feeling good enough to get a few things done....which included taking some pictures of Jett. (This C-section recovery has been a little harder than my first. The doctor says I'm probably doing too much too soon, but it's hard no to!) Here is our little Jett - or as Hoyt likes to say "Jetters" - at two weeks. He was back to his birth weight at 10 days, so I'm assuming he now weighs about 8 1/2 pounds.

He is starting to stay awake a little longer each day - I think he pretty much slept the first two weeks of his life away!!

When his hands aren't covered they are always up by his face.

He was a great baby during our photo session - didn't cry once, and as you can see, slept the vast majority of the time.

He's our angel baby - Ryon thinks something is wrong with him because he doesn't cry all the time like Hoyt did!

He doesn't even mind having his diaper changed - what a good boy!

I'm a SUNBEAM!!

The first Sunday of 2011, Hoyt became a Sunbeam. He was so excited to go to Primary with the big kids and sing songs. I wasn't able to go to church, but I did get a picture before he left with Ryon. I'm not sure where 3 1/2 years have gone - I'm letting Jett know he can't grow up as fast as Hoyt did!
