Best Buds

Hoyt and Logan have been "best buddies" since we moved to Filer about a year and a half ago.  They are in the same primary class at church, and love to get together at least once a week to play.  Since we will be moving into Twin Falls in just a month, Hoyt is worried that he won't be able to see Logan as often.  I promised him that we will still do play dates....after all, Filer is only going to be 15 minutes away!!

Field-Trip to the Farm

On Thursday morning Hoyt had his final field trip of the year.  I signed up to help drive, so Jett and I were able to tag along.  We had a great time at a farm in Buhl.  The kids went on wagon rides, got to ride a horse, feed goats, pet day-old baby chicks, run and play with about seven dogs, and completely wear themselves out!  Jett loved the field trip as well and did pretty much everything the preschool kids did.

Hoyt has loved preschool this year and we will be sad when summer break is here in a few weeks.  We do have the big preschool program to look forward to, which Hoyt is so excited about.  The kids will be performing a play and he just can't wait for Ryon, Jett and I to come and watch.

Ready to go on a wagon ride

Hoyt got to sit up front on one of the wagon rides - he thought it was so cool

He's taking his driving job pretty seriously!

Riding the horse - why is it that riding a horse other than your own is so much fun??

Jett was a pretty good boy for the field trip, but he didn't stay in his stroller very long

He wanted to ride the horse...

(Luckily I was walking beside him and holding him on!!)

and do everything the big kids were doing - FUN...FUN!

Stitches!

Early yesterday morning Hoyt climbed into bed with me and we watched a show (Mickey Mouse) until Jett woke up.  When I heard Jett stirring, I got up to go get him and told Hoyt to come along with me.  Hoyt proceeded to bounce over to my side of the bed to get out, and the next thing I knew he was screaming that he had hit his eye on my bedside stand.

I didn't think it was a big deal until I saw all of the blood!!  By the time I got him into my bathroom he was covered.  He was hysterical, Jett was screaming from his room, and I was trying o remain calm.  Luckily Ryon was working in the office, so he was able to come and help me clean up Hoyt....the floor....the carpet, etc.  Hoyt ended up needing two stitches (you would have thought with the amount of blood that he would have needed LOTS of stitches) to close his cut and it is now healing nicely.  What an eventful Monday morning!

**Side note - We were afraid Hoyt wouldn't do very well getting stitches, but he as a pro!  He didn't cry, talked to the doctor the whole time he was working on him, and got an ice cream afterwards.  He was also pretty excited to go to preschool the next day and show off his stitches to all the kids and his teachers!

We had to get some Lightning McQueen band-aids for his face - cool!

Two little stitches and a bruised eye

He is still a happy boy!

Little Man

I found Jett sitting in Hoyt's room playing on the "computer" the other morning.  He thinks he is quite the little boy, as he follows Hoyt around and thinks he can do everything a 4-year-old can.  What a character!

Easter Boys!

I wasn't able to get any pictures of the boys in their Easter clothes on Easter Sunday, so like any crazy mom (as Ryon would say) I got them back in their clothes so I could document how cute they were!  I will let the pictures speak for themselves - but I think I have two of the most handsome little guys around!

When I asked what Hoyt was doing with his hand he said, "feeling my heart".

Jett just wanted to get my camera the entire time!

Oh how I love them!

Easter Weekend

We had quite a few visitors for Easter this year and we loved it!  Noelle, Kyle and the kids came over for the weekend, and grandma & grandpa Murray and Markus came and spent all day Sunday with us.  We were able to go to church together and then come back to our house for Easter dinner and a little egg hunt for the kids.  The weather was perfect, we ate lots of good food, had a great time visiting and I think the kids were all exhausted by the end of the day!

Everybody after church -a little bright, but that's OK

Not the greatest family photo - oh well, I can dream of the perfect Easter picture right?

Jett starting his "hunt"

Finding his first egg!

Hoyt was impressed with the sucker inside the egg

Off to look for more eggs

Enjoying the spoils of their Easter hunt

Jett's not quite sure what to do with this chocolate egg - I think I ate it for him!

Hoyt had so much candy he wasn't sure what to eat first

Grandma Murray gave all the kids a present - the big boys got super soakers.  They were ecstatic and had to go try them out right away

Here's Hoyt shooting his gun

What a wonderful Easter weekend!

Look Mom....No Training Wheels!

Conference weekend we decided that Hoyt's training wheels needed to come off his bike.  He hadn't ridden his bike all winter, and he was definitely ready to ride "a big boy bike".  Sunday afternoon we went outside to ride the new and improved bike, but it was really windy so we went down to the barn and had some riding lessons indoors.  Hoyt was a natural.  After a few times of Ryon running beside or behind him, he had it!

We practiced for a little while in the barn and then the following day he was riding up and down our road and showing all the neighbors his new skills!  I'm not sure if he was more excited about riding his bike without training wheels or riding his bike with dads motorcycle helmet....funny boy!

Ready to get started in the barn

And he's....

off!

Jett kept himself entertained with the tractor

He wanted to ride on something too!

The next evening Hoyt was riding on his own and loving every minute of it

The gang out riding bikes

He thinks he's pretty cool - and now all he needs is a new bike.  This one is small to say the least!

Conference Time

Here our my three boys, all in their PJ's watching the Sunday morning session of conference.  Hoyt loved being able to see President Monson, President Eyring, and President Uchtdorf.  What a wonderful and uplifting weekend!
