Visitors!

Grandma and Grandpa Hoyt, and Noelle and the cousins came to visit for a few days and we were all loving it!  Grandpa Hoyt had to speak at a hay conference that he and Ryon were attending, so it was a great excuse for everybody to get together.  We had a fun time hanging out, taking the kids to lunch, playing outside, jumping on the trampoline, feeding the horse, etc.

Noelle and the kids left on Saturday afternoon, so Saturday night we got a babysitter and mom, dad, Ryon and I went out to dinner.  It was kind of nice to get away for some "adult time".  Sunday was church and then grandpa and grandma had to leave.  Hoyt was sad to see them go, but I told him that in only two weeks we would be seeing them at Disneyland.  (That seemed to appease him!)

Just Because....

Sometimes I just have to grab my camera and take a picture because they're just so darn cute!!  (Here they are watching TV the other day after Jett's nap)

Kindergarten Basketball

Since Hoyt is 5-years-old, he was eligible to play Kindergarten basketball for the Twin Falls rec. league.  Ryon was the coach, and one of the other dads was the assistant.  Ryon had all sorts of plans for his team, but I told him before the first practice to keep his expectations low and to remember that many of these boys would just need to learn how to dribble, pass and shoot.  (After the first practice he said that coaching kindergarten basketball was like herding cats!!)

The season lasted two months and Hoyt's team did a fantastic job.  No score was ever kept, but Hoyt and Ryon kept score (of course) and the boys won every game except one.  It was amazing to see how much each of the boys improved over the course of the season; Hoyt was a great dribbler, shooter and his defense was superb!  Hoyt looked forward to practices and games every week and was sad when the season was over.  He's definitely looking forward to playing t-ball in the summer and soccer in the fall!

Cowboys

Hoyt will never tire of dressing up like a cowboy, and I think Jett is following in his footsteps.  These two race around the house on their "stick ponies" shooting bad guys and having the best time!  They can't wait for the weather to warm up so they can get out on their real horse and take a ride.

Valentines

For Valentine's Day this year, the boys woke up to heart shaped pancakes and monster truck valentines from mom and dad.  They were pretty happy with that.  After breakfast we had to hurry and get Hoyt ready for school.  He was excited to take his cookie valentines to his class, and to show off his new monster truck for show-and-tell.

Ryon and I were able to get a babysitter for that evening, so we had a quick dinner at Chile's and then went to the temple for our Valentine's date.  I think everyone had a pretty great day!
