Buddies

These two are getting settled into the new house just fine!  There's lots of room to play, which is keeping them out from under my feet most of the time.  We have a big playroom in the basement, but of course, they tend to drag toys up to the main level to be with me.

Ryon asked me why we bought this big house if the boys just want to be in the same room we are all the time.  I have promised Ryon that one day they will enjoy playing downstairs in the basement....I'm thinking teens!  When they brought toys up to play the other day, I just had to take a few pictures.  They were too cute!

The Big MOVE!

Our "Big Move" from our rental house in Filer, to our new home in Twin Falls was quite a project.  Of course, it fell during Ryon's busiest time of year, so I was left to do most of the move by myself (or should I say myself and two little "not so helpful" helpers!)  Ryon was able to be home for two days, so he and some friends from our ward moved all the big items - I certainly could not have done that by myself!!

We gave ourselves plenty of time....four days to move everything to the new house and one day to clean.  We managed to get everything accomplished; however, Ryon and I are now saying that we will not be moving again for a very long time.  Two moves in 18 months is a lot, so we are definitely ready to stay put for awhile.

We are enjoying getting settled into our new home.  The house sits on four acres, has a barn and pastures for the horse, and lots of room for little boys to roam, ride bikes, shoot bb guns, explore, etc.  Ryon is happy that he finally has his own barn, and I am looking forward to doing lots of projects!  You can't tell from the pictures below (I took them from the real estate site) but the house sat empty for about 6 months and the yards took a beating.  There is a TON of yard work to do; pulling weeds, planting flowers, adding rock.....it should be a busy summer!!

Jett and "His Horse"

One of the only things left in Jett's room right now (that isn't packed up for the move) is his rocking horse.  He loves that thing.  The other morning I couldn't find him so I looked in his room and he was just sitting on the horse rocking.  I think he must have been there for about 10 minutes - I do believe we have another lover of all things horses on our hands!

Mother's Day

What a lucky mom I am to have been blessed with these two little boys!  We had a great day at church, Ryon made dinner, and then took the boys out to play in the backyard so I could have some "quiet" time.  Sounds like a wonderful Mother's Day to me!!

"Our Bird"

This little robin built a nest in the tree right next to our swing set.  Hoyt saw it one day and was instantly fascinated.  She would sit on her blue eggs morning and night, but during the afternoon hours when it was warm she would leave.  Hoyt loved to look at the eggs and everyday we would see if any baby birds had hatched.  Hoyt has already said that when we move he will miss "our bird" terribly!

Preschool Program

May 10th was Hoyt's last day of preschool.  His preschool class had been preparing for weeks for the "final day" when they would sing songs, perform skits, receive the book they had been working on all year, etc.  He could hardly wait for Ryon and I to see what his class had been planning.

In the class skit Hoyt was a bear and his line was, "One more peep out of you and I'll EAT YOU UP!" (He was saying this to a fox who was making too much noise)  I think we practiced his line every day to and from preschool for at least two weeks!

The preschool program was a success and Hoyt loved performing....imagine that!  He loved school this year and we were thankful for his wonderful teacher, Reba Henson, and for all the things he was able to learn and experience.

Ready to leave for the preschool program

Everyone had their dog ears on for the first few songs.
(One of the songs was "Who Let The Dogs Out"!)

Singing...singing...and more singing

Getting ready to go on "stage" to deliver his line!

With Reba - we will miss her next year!

Jett wasn't all that impressed with the performace...he just wanted to play!

Caught!

What happens when you are trying to pack boxes and get ready to move?  The sixteen-month-old decides to get into mischief.  I guess one roll of toilet paper on the floor is better than one roll of toilet paper in the toilet!
