Debut

Little miss Stacia Starr made her debut at church today.  She was such a good girl and slept the entire time in her seat (with the cover down).  She looked so cute, but not too many people got to take a peak.  I was a little concerned about germs!!  We had some visitors with us this week too, so we had a very busy day at church.  I now know what it would be like to get five children under six ready for church - crazy!

A Belated Star Wars Birthday Party

Hoyt really wanted to have a friend party this year for his birthday.  Since his birthday was only nine days after I left the hospital with Stacia, I promised him that I would do a friend party for him sometime in September.  Luckily I stayed true to my word and we threw a Star Wars party for him on September 28th.  We set up a Star Wars Jedi Training obstacle course that everyone got to participate in, and at the end of the training course each child got to fight Darth Vadar (aka Ryon).  We also had a Death Star piƱata and topped it off with Star Wars cake and ice cream.  I think all the kids had a great time, especially Hoyt who couldn't stop talking about it for days!  Happy Belated Birthday Buddy!!

Soccer Star

Hoyt is turning into quite the sports fanatic.  So far this year he has played basketball, t-ball, and now we are on to soccer (not to mention flag football which will begin next month)!  He has really enjoyed learning about soccer and playing with his team; however, on game days he routinely tells me that he gets "soooo tired" because of all the running!  I just tell him that all the exercise will make him big and strong!  Here are some pictures of his season which will end in just a few weeks.

Dinner at Bill and Shauna's

Bill and Shauna had us over for dinner after church today.  It was so nice of them to think of us, and so nice for me not to have to cook!  While we were there we had Bill take a family picture of us for the new ward directory.  Stacia and I haven't been back to church yet, so we couldn't take one at church with Ryon and the boys.  Luckily this one turned out OK.  The boys also got to ride around in the little Razor that Bill and Shauna have for their grandkids.  Hoyt and Jett were in heaven!!

Reflux + Colic = One Screaming Baby!!

So....this is the baby we see pretty regularly around here!  We love her so much, and she is such little doll, but boy oh boy can she scream.  Truly there are some days that if she is not being held she is screaming.  The joys of reflux, colic and an infant.  Sometimes the first few months of life are rough!!  On a positive note, Hoyt and Jett look like they are enjoying every minute of it.

Stacia's First Bath

The funny thing about these pictures is that she is so calm.  I think Ryon took these first two at the very beginning of her bath, because the rest of the bath was a scream-fest!  She definitely did not like it one bit!  She screamed until the moment I took her out and wrapped her up snug in her towel.  I do not think bath time will be very relaxing for either of us!

Little Miss Stacia

This little sweet girl is three weeks old!  I know every parent says that they grow up too fast, but really I wish time would slow down just a bit.  Perhaps knowing that she is my last baby is making me a bit more sentimental, but I want her to stay little for as long as possible!

At three weeks Stacia is loving the swing (thankfully), she continues to sleep the vast majority of the day (not so much at night), loves to be held (what baby doesn't), and was not the most cooperative when I wanted to take some pictures of her (I think a few turned out OK).  She is our first baby with reflux, which is not fun, and she seems to have a bit of colic as well.  I was really hoping she would be the easy baby that Jett was, but it's looking like she might be our most difficult.  I guess it's good that she is so cute!!

Hoyt Starts Kindergarten!

Oh how Hoyt has been waiting for this day!  He was so excited for his first day of school, and I have to say maybe slightly more excited to start riding the bus.  With afternoon kindergarten a bus comes around and just picks up the kindergarteners, AND the bus picks up right at our house.  How wonderful is that?

I told Hoyt that he probably wouldn't want to ride the bus the first day of school, because most parents take their kids (especially kindergarteners) to school on the first day.  However, he wouldn't hear of it.  He begged and begged to ride the bus, so I relented.  I told him that I would meet the bus at the school and walk him to his class.

When I met him at the school, I was horrified to see that he was the only child on the bus.  No other kindergarteners had been on the bus for the first day.  I felt so badly, but Hoyt didn't seem to mind.  He said, "Mom, the bus ride was fun, but no one else rode the bus!"  To top it all off the bus was a little late, so I had to walk him into class late and explain to his teacher why he was tardy.  I cried the whole way back home.  Now, it was probably the post-partum making me cry, but I felt like the worst parent in the world for letting him ride the bus and that he had to ride it all alone.  It didn't seem to phase him though, so I guess I shouldn't worry!
